WithSecure gains both exposure and leads from TalentMatch

Cyber security company WithSecure has a long history under the name F-Secure but as WithSecure the journey of building a global brand starts anew. TalentMatch offered an opportunity for the company to make itself better known amongst international professionals, as well as a chance for WithSecure to get to know the talent.

In October 2022, Espoo Talent Hub hosted a TalentMatch event that brought together 24 employers with prospective international employees. One of these employers was the Finnish cybersecurity company WithSecure.

Despite the over 30-year legacy behind it, WithSecure is only setting out on a new path in a world that’s completely different from the one F-Secure was born in back in the day. Founded in 2022 as the result of a demerger, WithSecure focuses on the B2B cyber security market and the challenges within.

“WithSecure actually represents the larger part of the former F-Secure business, but it’s natural that our name is still not that familiar to many”, says Tomasz Godlewski, Talent Acquisition Partner at WithSecure.

TalentMatch is an easy and cost-effective way for companies to make their brand known amongst international talent and to network with them. For WithSecure, taking part represented a double opportunity.

"First, we wanted to raise awareness of our brand. Second, whenever we are looking for candidates for job openings, we have an eye out for top notch international talent. The event was a good place for us to network with potential talent.”

Godlewski was very pleased with the event. The atmosphere was positive, and the room was buzzing. The attendees were clearly interested in WithSecure as a company.

Godlewski also highlights that the event had some interesting pitches and a well-chosen keynote speaker, who spoke about the Finnish job market from the perspective of international employees.

“I could even say that it was eye-opening for me. WithSecure is a very international company. Currently, we have close to 50 nationalities represented at our Helsinki office. Working in such environment, I hadn’t fully realized that speaking Finnish is a prerequisite in many companies, even in those that are working in a field that isn’t language dependent.”

Even though WithSecure didn’t hire anyone following the event, they got some promising leads and have stayed in touch with people. The next TalentMatch event will be organized on April 27th and WithSecure will be there as well.

“We have a good relationship with the team that organizes the event, and this is definitely an event where we want to be again. I think this is a good opportunity for other companies like us to get exposure and to meet the right kind of people”, tells Godlewski.
