Espoo Youth Council Election 2023: Candidate registration will open on Monday, 11 September and close on Friday, 29 September 2023

The Espoo Youth Council Election will be held again this autumn. The Youth Council elected in the autumn represents young people in the city’s decision-making.

The term of office of the Youth Council is two years and will begin on 1 January 2024. A total of 40 council members will be elected according to the number of votes. The City Board will confirm the election result, and the results will be announced at a special event 7 December 2023.

All young Espoo residents born in 2005–2010 will have the right to vote in the 2023 election. The Youth Council Election will be held using an electronic voting platform from 6 to 24 November 2023.

Everyone who is entitled to vote and studies in Espoo will vote in their own educational institution on the voting day.

Young people can influence matters

Young people entitled to vote in the Youth Council Election also have the right to stand as candidates. Candidate registration will open on Monday, 11 September and close on Friday, 29 September 2023.

The candidate application must be submitted no later than at 15:00 on Friday, 29 September 2023.

The Webropol form will close at 15:00.

All appropriate candidate applications received by the deadline will be accepted.

The election results will be announced on 7 December 2023.  

After candidate registration, an election compass will appear on the Youth Council website to help you find your candidate. 

The online election compass will open on week 43.
