Aalto Radical Creativity Summer School

This article series presents cases of innovations built here in Espoo that strive for a better tomorrow for all.

Innovation in Espoo is based on radical, interdisciplinary creativity and collaboration. Together with Aalto University and VTT, the city launched the first-ever Aalto Radical Creativity Summer School in summer 2023. The course encourages risk-taking, diversity and critical questioning when tackling complex societal challenges.

The course used radical creativity to explore ways in which Espoo, VTT and Aalto can work together to support the attraction and retention of international professionals. During the Summer School 15 talents from around the world worked on the city of Espoo’s & VTT’s projects and came up with three novel solutions to the challenge.
