Upper Secondary School Joint Application 2026
Application procedures vary between the general and visual arts lines.
In the joint application for 2026, the general line of Viherlaakso Upper Secondary School has 155 and the visual arts line has 25 starting places.
The electronic joint application process takes place in the Studyinfo(external link, opens in a new window) -service. The application period for the joint application period for post-basic education in spring of 2026 was 17.2.2026–17.3.2026.
Applying to Viheri
The lowest acceptable grade point average required in Espoo upper secondary schools in general is 7,00. Students are selected for upper secondary schools in the order of the grade point average in the applicant's comprehensive school certificate.
Admission of students to general upper secondary school is based on the grade point average for the following subjects on the basic education certificate:
- mother tongue and literature
- second national language
- foreign languages
- religion or ethics
- history
- social studies
- mathematics
- physics
- chemistry
- biology
- health education
- geography
Applying to our general education line:
The admission to our general education line is based on the applicants’ grade point average. The lowest grade point average accepted is normally around 7.5.

Applying to our visual arts line:
Our visual arts line is its own separate option available in the joint application process. Students accepted into our visual arts line are selected based on the grade point average in the applicant's comprehensive school certificate and the total score of a separate visual arts entrance examination.
All applicants to our visual arts line will be invited to an on-site entrance exam. Participation is mandatory in order to be accepted. The invitations for the spring 2026 entrance examination with enrollment instructions will be sent in March to the applicants.
The entrance exam for spring 2026 will be held on Thu 23.4.2026 at 12.15–17.30. The back-up date for the entrance examination is on Wed 29.4.2026 at 8.30–13.30. The applicants must primarily take the entrance exam on the actual date 23.4. With a special permission from our principal, the entrance examination can be taken on the back-up date 29.4.
