Toppelund Beach dog swimming area
Dog beach is a fenced area where dogs may swim.
There is one official dog beach in Espoo. It is located in Haukilahti, near Toppelund Beach (Mellstenintie 4).
The fence around the dog beach does not extend all the way to the shoreline, so people can pass through the area. At this partially fenced dog beach, dogs must be kept on a leash in accordance with the law, and dog owners are responsible for supervising their dogs. The area also has benches and a table.
Dogs are not allowed on public bathing beaches (Public Order Act 612/2003, Section 14). However, dogs may swim in locations other than official bathing beaches. Dog-friendly areas are also marked on the Helsinki Region Service map.
