We are developing a unified school culture in collaboration with families. Our goal is to build a continuously evolving and learning school community together with our students. In this development work, we draw on the strengths of our community and a strong sense of togetherness. In our school's multicultural everyday life, students get to know peers from different cultural backgrounds, learn important collaboration skills, and acquire the knowledge, abilities, and competencies needed in society. Leppävaaran koulu is part of the URHEA network for lower secondary schools. The network aims to support young athletes in combining their studies with sports and in their growth as athletes. The school's new facilities and surrounding environment offer excellent and versatile conditions for goal-oriented training and sports coaching.

The route to the main entrance

The 2 accessible parking spaces are located outdoors under 10 m from the entrance. The width of the parking spaces is less than 3.6 m.
The pick-up and drop-off area is located in the vicinity of the entrance, giving easy access to the pavement.
The route to the entrance is smooth and sufficiently wide and illuminated.

The entrance stands out clearly and is illuminated. There is a canopy above the entrance.
The doors connected to the entrance stand out clearly and the glass doors have contrast markings. Outside the door there is sufficient room for moving e.g. with a wheelchair. The door requires the use of a door phone, opening automatically.

The entrance has thresholds over 2 cm high.

In the facility

The customer service point has three floors.
For moving around, there is a lift, which can hold a wheelchair that is difficult to perceive; the door opens with an access control key. The floor numbers in the lift can be felt with fingers. The button for the exit floor stands out from the other buttons. (The minimum dimensions for an accessible lift are width 1.1 m and depth 1.4 m.)
The facility has a wheelchair lift.

The facility has an accessible toilet on the entrance floor.
There is a second accessible toilet on floor 1.
There is a third accessible toilet on floor 3.
