Term dates and holidays for schools and early childhood education

• Schools and early pre-primary education in Espoo are on autumn break 13.-17.10.2025 (week 42). Early childhood education is offered normally during the autumn break, but please notify us in advance via the eVaka calendar if your child will not attend early childhood education during the week in question.
• In the winter, from the 22 of December 2025 to the 4 January 2026, some early childhood education units are closed and early childhood education is concentrated to a few units in the area. Please inform us in advance if your child will need early childhood education between these dates.
• Schools and pre-primary education in Espoo are on winter break 16.-20.2.2026. (week 8). Early childhood education is offered normally during the winter break, but please notify us in advance via the eVaka calendar if your child will not attend early childhood education during the week in question.

In the summer, after Midsummer, early childhood education units offer limited activities.

Most daycare centers are generally closed between 29 June and 31 July 2026, and early childhood education is provided centrally only in certain units.

The final-year students in upper secondary school have their last school day on 10 February 2028.

Schools can change maximum one school-day into a holiday by running school on one Saturday. 

Residents’ parks are open on weekdays between 8.00 and 16.00, except on public holidays. There is no snack service for schoolchildren during school holidays. 

This year all residents’ parks will be open until Midsummer. The Soukka, Perkkaa, Olari, Suvela and Tapiola residents’ parks will be open all summer 2025.
