Recordings

The Tapiola Sinfonietta has a discography with more than 70 titles which have been very well received by both Finnish and foreign critics. These recordings have been of great importance to the shaping of the orchestra’s international profile.

The newest release is Chants d’Auvergne (BIS 2021): “For the present disc, Carolyn Sampson and Pascal Rophé have selected 25 of the songs – ranging from love songs and lullabies to working songs and laments. They perform them together with Tapiola Sinfonietta, bringing sparkle to Canteloube’s luxurious scores halfway between the impressionism of Debussy and the bucolic lyricism of d’Indy”.

Among the most recent discs are ones containing works by Magnus Lindberg, Sven-Erik Tüur and Camille Saint-Saëns. The Saint Saëns recording with conductor Jean-Jacques Kantorow and pianist Alexandre Kantorow has won several international awards, among them Diapason d´Or l’année 2019.
