Espoo’s Senioripaku Välkky

Espoo’s Senioripaku Välkky, Elderly People’s Van, brings enjoyable activities to elderly people in Espoo. In the summer of 2025, the traditional van will be the city library’s activity bus Välkky. At the stops, Senioripaku Välkky offers elderly people free advice, guided exercise, dance sessions, a varied programme of arts and culture and a chance to meet other people.

About Senioripaku

Senioripaku operates to fill the gaps in the existing services offered by the city to senior citizens. This initiative is carried out through teamwork between sports and culture services, library services, Omnia Espoo Adult Education Centre, Western Uusimaa Wellbeing Services County, as well as organisations, volunteer workers and the elderly themselves, who take part in the development of the programme.

The idea was developed as part of the Seniorit Tikissä project at universities for Applied Sciences in the capital region.
