Visit youth services
The City of Espoo Youth Services Unit offers visitors a unique opportunity to learn about Finnish youth work and its diversity. A visit is an excellent occasion for exchanging ideas and best practices related to youth work.
Visitors will be able to see youth centres, participate in events and learn about projects in order to gain an in-depth understanding of how Espoo supports the growth and wellbeing of young people. We offer visitors the opportunity to network with Finnish youth workers and other professionals in the field. This will encourage people to share information and resources in order to promote international youth work.
A special feature of Espoo’s Youth Services is its holistic approach to supporting the wellbeing of young people. Espoo’s Youth Services offers a wide range of facilities and activities for young people, ranging from comprehensive youth work at youth centres to various courses. Through these, young people get to engage in diverse recreational activities. Each year, we also organise a variety of events built around the interests of young people. Youth centres in Espoo are not only places where young people can spend their leisure time; the centres also provide practical support in matters related to studies and employment.
We are committed to offering young people diverse and supportive services that will help them grow, learn and enjoy their youth. Our services also include two mobile youth centres: a camper van called Kerttu and a van called Keijo. The camper van is decorated according to the wishes of young people and operates in the same way as any youth centre. The van, Keijo, carries the items and equipment needed to set up a youth centre and transforms into a diverse youth centre in no time – ideal for setting up a youth centre next to a beach in the summer, for example. Both mobile youth centres also always carry something cold to drink.
