Transport Services: Ordering a ride
You can request a ride as soon as possible, book a ride in advance or take a vehicle at a taxi stand. You cannot use trips provided by Transport Services for health care-related purposes. Kela is responsible for your health care-related trips. Transport Services will not reimburse you for trips taken on other service providers’ vehicles.
The vehicle will pick you up within 60 minutes after you book the ride, at the time specified in the booking confirmation.
If you need to be picked up or dropped off at an exact time, please book your ride in advance. You will need to book your ride more than 60 minutes before the desired pick-up time.
You can also place a regular, continuous transport order, for example for trips to work. Place the order by e-mail, if possible.
The vehicle must be equipped with the Transport Services logo. Tell the driver that you are a client of Transport Services. Also tell the driver where you are going, other relevant information and your needs regarding the ride. The driver will contact Transport Services. You will receive a booking confirmation for the trip.
If you have the right to use a familiar taxi driver, you should book rides directly through the driver. The driver will forward the booking details to Transport Services on your behalf.
How to book a ride
Book a ride through the Kulkukeskus- application

You can book a ride by calling 09 231 216 60 (standard local/mobile network rate).
You can book a ride by email firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can book a ride by text message 045 7397 5631.
Example of a text message booking:
“One-way Carl Client Kotitie 1 A 2, Espoo, Kohdetie 2 A 3, Helsinki. Departure 12:30. Date 5.5.2019. Work. Other people 2. Dog.”
After you have booked a ride, you will receive a booking confirmation through the channel of your choice:
- by text message
- by email
- through the application
The order confirmation includes for example the following information:
- your pick-up time
- the driver’s name
- car registration number
The Transport Services application allows you to see the vehicle’s location on the map. For example, if your driver is late because of a traffic jam, you will be notified through the application or you will receive another message.
If you wish to change your order confirmation channel, please contact Transport Services.
If you only use the telephone service
If you only contact Transport Services by calling, you will be informed of the estimated pick-up time during your call. If your ride is significantly delayed (by 15 minutes or more) for example due to a traffic jam, Transport Services will call you.
If you need to change your booking, please inform Transport Services as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your new request.
You can use any of the booking methods to change your booking: calling, text message, application, online or email. You will always receive a new booking confirmation after changing your booking.
Cancellation of a booking
You can cancel your booking up to 60 minutes before the agreed pick-up time. If you cancel your booking later, one trip will be deducted from your quota. In an unexpected force majeure situation (e.g. sudden illness), please contact the customer service of Transport Services as soon as possible or ask someone else to cancel your booking on your behalf.
If your driver is more than 30 minutes late for the agreed pick-up time, you can cancel your ride without losing a trip.
