Contact social welfare services
Are you concerned about the life management, substance abuse or livelihood of someone you know or someone who is your client? Are you concerned about the welfare of their children? If yes, please contact the Social Services of the City of Espoo. Based on the information you give, social service professionals will assess what kind of help they could offer to the person or the family.
You can use this service if the person who needs help has given you permission to contact Social Services. If the person has not given their consent, use this service instead: Notification of the need for social welfare services.
The service is unfortunately only available in Finnish at the moment.
Contact us as a private person
Anyone who is concerned about someone else’s situation can contact Social Services. After hearing from you, social service professionals will assess what kind of help they could offer to the person or the family.

- If you do not know the personal identity code, fill in a printable form (pdf, 117 Kt) and post or fax it to the Adult Social Work office of Espoo. The contact information is at the bottom of the form.
Contact us as a person bound by the obligation to notify authorities (Social Welfare Act, section 35)
Health care professionals, social welfare officers and employees of social services, education services, sports services, early childhood education, fire and rescue services, the Emergency Response Centre Administration, Customs, the Police, the Criminal Sanctions Agency, an employment and economic development authority, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland or an enforcement authority have an obligation to notify other authorities of a person’s need for social welfare services. If you belong to the professional groups mentioned above and have, in the course of your work, become aware of a person with an obvious need for social welfare services, you must direct the person in question to seek social services.

In urgent cases, call us
We process online and printed contact forms from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 16:00. If someone needs immediate care in the evening, at night or during a weekend, call Western Uusimaa Social and Crisis Emergency Services, tel. +358 9 81642439. This number serves around the clock.
