Short-term family care
Family care is the primary form of care outside home for children under 16 years of age. The objective of short-term family care is to support the living at home of persons with intellectual disabilities and the coping of their families. The family carer takes care of the person in need of care in their own home. Family carers have the appropriate training for the task. A person in need of care is treated as a member of the family. Family care can also be provided in the home of the person in need of care.
