The aim of Kera’s local detailed plan is to turn Kera into a new urban local centre, with blocks of flats and schools located on either side of Kera station. City Council has approved the plan 13.9.2021.

A clear and compact centre will be designed for Kera. The industrial and logistics operations are about to be relocated away from the area. In the future, the area will be served by efficient public transport, and it will have a large number of jobs and housing units in blocks of flats. The local detailed plan follows the existing component master plan for Kera and Kera’s district plan.
