Fourth coronavirus vaccinations extended to all persons aged 70 years and above in July

Espoo will be extending the provision of fourth doses of coronavirus vaccinations in accordance with the new recommendation of the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

From July onwards, THL recommends that municipalities provide fourth doses of coronavirus vaccinations to persons with the greatest medical risk of getting a severe case of coronavirus disease in the following order:

  1. people aged 70–79, who do not belong to risk groups
  2. people aged 18–69, who belong to risk groups
  3. people aged 60–69, who do not belong to risk groups.

You can take the fourth dose three months after the third vaccine.

Extension of fourth coronavirus vaccinations in Espoo

Espoo will first extend fourth coronavirus vaccination doses to all people aged 70–79 years. Persons belonging to this first group may book their vaccination appointment already in July.

In August, the fourth vaccinations will also be extended to people aged 18–69 years who belong to a risk group, and then to all people aged 60–69. We will inform you on our website when persons belonging to these groups may book their appointment for vaccination.

Booking an appointment for vaccination

You can book your appointment for vaccination by submitting a call-back request by calling +358 9 81634800 (Mon–Fri 8.00–16.00). As of Monday 18 July, vaccinations will only be given by appointment.

Persons aged 70 and above can book a vaccination appointment from the bookcovidvaccine.fi(external link)(external link, opens in a new window) online service of the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District.
