Welcome to the City of Espoo, summer employees!

We provide summer employment for about 830 young people, which is over 50 jobs more than in 2021.

A total of 8,100 applications were submitted. The highest number of summer employees work in property maintenance (57 summer employees). This summer, we also hired young people for green area maintenance (31 summer employees), assisting tasks in home and long-term care and disability services (64 summer employees), assisting tasks in early childhood education (61 summer employees) and sports and tasks youth services (130 summer employees), such as outdoor recreation area caretakers and lifeguards (100 summer employees in total). Summer jobs are also provided in urban design and financial administration, and at the Environment and Building Control Department. Applicants were most interested in green are work, i.e. park and playground maintenance as well as various care-related assistance tasks.

The average summer job duration was one moth.

We also distributed a total of 1,500 summer vouchers. The city pays 300 euros to an employer who hires a young person who lives in Espoo and was born between 2003 and 2007 to work with the employment voucher between 1 May and 30 September.
