The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) recommends third doses of the coronavirus vaccine for 12–17-year-olds who belong to risk groups. They can get the third dose 6 months after the second dose.

A third dose may also be given to other 12–17-year-olds if it is necessary for a special reason, such as getting a Covid certificate.

If you have had the coronavirus disease

THL recommends that a second dose is offered as a booster to 12–17-year-olds who belong to risk groups, have had the coronavirus disease confirmed by a PCR test and have received one vaccine dose. A second dose is recommended 6 months after they received the first dose or had the disease, whichever happened most recently.

For the time being, a second dose of the vaccine is not recommended for 12–17-year-olds who do not belong to risk groups and have had the disease. However, they can get the second dose if it is necessary, for example, for travel or Covid certificate purposes.
