Espoo residents are encouraged in many ways to get vaccinated against coronavirus

This week, Espoo residents will receive text messages that encourage them to get vaccinated against the coronavirus. It is also possible to get vaccinated without booking an appointment at the Iso Omena and Espoon keskus vaccination sites. There have been no queues at the sites.

Text messages to over 60-year-olds who have received one or two vaccine doses

We will send a text message to Espoo residents aged 60 or over who have not yet booked their second or third vaccination appointment.

“We want to remind them to get their booster doses if they for some reason have not yet booked an appointment,” says Markus Paananen, the City of Espoo’s Director of Health Services.

We also send text messages to people who may be entirely unvaccinated

We will also send a text message to Espoo residents aged 18 or over who, according to our information, have not yet been vaccinated and are thus not protected against severe coronavirus disease. The cities of Helsinki and Espoo have prepared this text message campaign together.

Our text message says that it is easy to get vaccinated, even without booking an appointment. Anyone can get vaccinated without booking an appointment at the Iso Omena and Espoon keskus vaccination sites. Up-to-date information on vaccinations is available at espoo.fi/coronavaccination.

We have also encouraged people to get vaccinated through outdoor advertising and social media campaigns.
