This news article describes the situation concerning coronavirus vaccinations in Espoo on Thursday 30 December at 16:00. Please note that our news articles contain information that was valid at the time of publication. The situation concerning vaccinations is changing rapidly at the moment.

More vaccination appointments for 5–11-year-olds

We have increased the number of coronavirus vaccination appointments available for 5–11-year-old children. In January, the availability of appointments is good, also in the evenings and on weekends.

For the time being, coronavirus vaccines will not be administered at schools. School nurses will vaccinate children in January at the Tapiola Health Centre, Lintuvaara and Espoon keskus vaccination sites. In addition, school nurses will vaccinate children at the Iso Omena maternity and child health clinic together with public health nurses. You have to book an appointment to visit the vaccination sites.

Children must always be accompanied by at least one adult. In Espoo, 5–11-year-olds can only get vaccinated if they have a consent form signed by all guardians. You must bring the signed consent form with you to the vaccination site. Please discuss the vaccination with your child in advance to hear their opinion on getting the vaccine.

More appointments available for third vaccine doses

At the moment, third vaccination appointments can be booked by people who turn 40 this year or are older than 40 and people who belong to risk groups.

We have increased the number of appointments available. The availability of appointments is good, for example, at the Espoon keskus vaccination site, where appointments have also been made available in the evenings and on Saturday and Sunday this week.

We are monitoring the vaccination and appointment booking situation closely. Next week, appointments will become available for the next age group, i.e. 30–39-year-olds.

Private occupational health care providers will start offering coronavirus vaccinations early next year. Some of them will do so already in the first weeks of January, once they have organised their vaccination operations.

By 30 December, just over 44,500 third doses have been administered in Espoo.

Do you have questions about vaccinations? Check espoo.fi/coronavaccination

We receive a lot of feedback and numerous questions about the coronavirus and vaccinations. We are unfortunately unable to respond to individual messages. The same people who respond to messages are also responsible for organising vaccinations, which means that responding to messages would delay the vaccination process. Before sending us your question, we ask you to first check if you could find an answer on our website at espoo.fi/coronavaccination(extrernal link). Please also read the linked news on the page.

The next situation report will be published when we have information on new changes.
