The coronavirus vaccine is now available to all 5–11-year-old children. We have increased the number of appointments available for children. In Espoo, 5–11-year-olds can only get vaccinated if they have a consent form signed by all guardians.

Updated 30th January 2021

Following the Government’s amendment to the decree on Covid-19 vaccinations, the coronavirus vaccine is now available to everyone aged 5 or over in Finland. The decree entered into force on 23 December 2021. Previously, the vaccine was only offered to 5–11-year-olds who are at risk of severe coronavirus disease.

How to book a vaccination appointment

Children must always be accompanied by at least one adult. In Espoo, 5–11-year-olds can only get vaccinated if they have a consent form signed by all guardians. You must bring a signed printout of the consent form with you to the vaccination site. Please discuss the vaccination with your child in advance to hear their opinion on getting the vaccine.

Vaccination sites and opening hours

For the time being, coronavirus vaccines will not be administered at schools. In Espoo, school nurses will vaccinate children in January at the Tapiola Health Centre, Lintuvaara and Espoon keskus vaccination sites, and the Iso Omena maternity and child health clinic. You have to book an appointment to visit the vaccination sites.

When using the online appointment booking system, you can find all vaccination sites and available appointments by selecting “Espoo”. You will receive directions to the vaccination site together with the confirmation message.
