Third dose of the coronavirus vaccine will be offered to everyone aged 18 and over

In Espoo, vaccines are first offered to older age groups. The same vaccination order was used during the first vaccination round, which means that we will offer the vaccine to different age groups in phases. At the moment, vaccines are being given to over 60-year-olds and people who belong to medical risk groups 1 and 2. We believe that most people aged 60 and over will be vaccinated by the end of January, and we can then start vaccinating under 60-year-olds.

According to the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL), regions should make sure that they first vaccinate older age groups before moving on to younger people, as age is the most significant factor increasing the risk of severe coronavirus disease. It is also important that the vaccination of new age groups does not slow down the vaccination pace among previously designated groups.

A large number of people are now able to get the third vaccine dose, which means that our appointment booking system and vaccination sites may be busy at times. Please be patient if vaccination appointments are not immediately available.

The third vaccine dose is available by appointment only. At the moment, you can have your third dose 5.5 months after your second dose. We will provide information on possible changes separately.

In December, vaccines are available at the following vaccination sites:

• Iso Omena (Monday–Friday)
• Sello (only on Thursdays)
• Entresse (only on Fridays)
• Lintuvaara (week 50 Mon–Tue, week 51 Mon–Thu, week 52 Mon–Fri)
