Coronavirus infections at two nursing homes in Espoo
At the Palvelukoti Koivu ja Tähti nursing home in Espoo, two staff members and six residents have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. At the Viherlaakso Memory Service Centre, short-term sheltered housing clients have been exposed to the coronavirus.
At the Palvelukoti Koivu ja Tähti nursing home, two staff members and six residents in the Tähti unit have been diagnosed with the coronavirus. Infections have not been diagnosed in the Koivu unit. There have also not been any infections at Palvelutalo Kotikoivu that is located on the same premises.
The first infections were diagnosed on Saturday. The residents and staff members of the group home will be tested. The City of Espoo’s Infectious Disease Unit has placed all exposed persons in quarantine. All infected residents and staff members have been placed in isolation.
The nursing home staff contacted the residents’ families regarding exposures and testing during the weekend.
Coronavirus exposures at Viherlaakso Memory Service Centre
At the City of Espoo’s Viherlaakso Memory Service Centre, clients of short-term intensified sheltered housing have been exposed to the coronavirus. The clients of short-term intensified sheltered housing do not live permanently in the nursing home, but only for a short period of care. The clients who were exposed to the virus during their period of care have been contacted.
