WeeGee's Summer Camps

In June, WeeGee organizes week-long day camps intended for children aged 7–10. Participation requires that the child has completed the first year of school.

The content of the camps is based on the exhibition content of Tapiola's museums and they are introduced from different perspectives through experiencing and doing. The important thing is the we-spirit and the joy of success.

Summer Camps 2023

The camp program takes place on weekdays between 9 am and 4 pm in June, during weeks 23, 24 and 25. The price of a camp week is €200, except for a 4-day week €175 (week 25), prices include VAT 24%. The price of the camp week includes the guided activity, materials and daily lunch and snack.

The camps are produced by Espoo's Event and Cultural Services todether with WeeGee's museums and partners.

Camp program

Monday

Camp counsellors’ day
On the first camp day, we will get to know each other while adventuring in the colourful worlds of the Mauri Kunnas exhibition and take a peek into the magical atmosphere inside the plastic Futuro house.

Tuesday

Camp day at KAMU
Discover the magic in your surroundings through the camera lens! In the KAMU Espoo City Museum’s workshop, we capture our surroundings and add a touch of magic to the pictures by crafting and decorating.

Wednesday

Camp day at EMMA: Taikapaikka – Magic Place
What would a starfish’s living room look like? Or a piece of space? On the summer camp day at Emma, we explore different spaces and build ourselves magical mini-spaces.

Thursday

Morning at Leikki – The Museum of Play
In the museum of play, we dive into the wonderful world of stories and – play! We will also get to know a magical forest with mythical creatures and build fascinating fantasy worlds in the workshop.

Afternoon at the Finnish Museum of Horology and Jewellery Kruunu: Taikalaatikko – Magic Box
The Finnish Museum of Horology and Jewellery Kruunu takes us into a magical world of jewellery and watches. We get to write a story and immortalize it in a wooden box. The Magic Box will be completed during the WeeGee summer camps with the help of all the campers. What will the final story and the world it takes place in be like?

Friday (excluding week 25)

Camp day at Arkki the School of Architecture for Children and Youth
During the Arkki camp day, we will learn about architecture through different spaces and furniture, especially the furniture designs of Yrjö Kukkapuro on display at Emma’s Magic Room exhibition. We get to design and build a miniature model of a magic room, complete with furniture, during the day.
