Guided tours for secondary school

Tue–Sun 11 am–5 pm tel. +358 9 81657052. Reservations must be made at least one week in advance. Groups with reservations can come to the museum starting at 9 am. Guided tours are free of charge for day care, preschool and school groups. Tour languages: Finnish, Swedish, English. When you make a reservation, please give the group size, age of the children, name of the day care center / school and the contact information of the group leader. We are happy to accommodate special needs – please mention them when making a reservation!

On this interactive tour we get to know the major events in the 1800s and 1900s. Students get a chance to practice historical empathy by taking on roles as residents of Espoo Manor. Recommended for secondary school (7th-9th grade).

The 20th century was a century of change. How did a small Swedish-speaking parish become a big Finnish-speaking city in 100 years? What makes a good place to live? In the workshop, the pupils/students familiarise themselves with city planning and create new suburbs in Espoo. While planning suburbs, they also learn about the urbanisation of Espoo, the history of modern Espoo and the social ideals of good living in different time periods.
