The new children’s musical Maaginen Kalevala (‘Magical Kalevala’) is a story about Finnish superpowers! We follow Väinämöinen’s footsteps as we dive into the source of our personal inspiration, solve everyday problems with magical means and opera tunes: by casting spells, shifting our forms and achieving supernatural goals.The world of the shows draws its inspiration from the Finnish nature, forest and Kalevala tradition by translating them into the language of today’s children, by turning them into a story about Finnish superpowers.The newest work by KLAPS klassista lapsille ry is composed by Anna Nora. The performance is directed by Juulia Tapola and Pia Lasonen is responsible for the visuals. The contributors also include opera singers Jouni Bäckström, Emilia Vesalainen-Pellas and Annami Hylkilä from the popular musical ‘Maukka, Väykkä ja Karhu Murhinen’, and in addition to the composer, the music is performed by kantele artist Jenni Kaarina and a children’s choir.Duration 50 min Recommended for ages 5 and up Language: FinnishTickets €5, free admission for supervisors of groups of children.
