Trio Origo are a clarinet trio performing on period instruments. They specialise in early works written for the combination of clarinet, cello and piano. This repertoire includes some real gems – well-known favourites and masterpieces by rather more obscure composers. The ‘Gassenhauer’ Trio was a breakthrough work for the young Beethoven; it reflects the influence of a contemporary hit, a melody from an opera by Joseph Weigl. This performance is the postponed release concert of the Trio’s disc on the Dutch label Brilliant Classics (2020).
