Birth and death – what happens between them? What about before or after? Many people contemplate these fundamental questions when sitting in a pew in a church or chapel. Many composers have translated such thoughts into music.

The concert series that we call Chamber Music in Chapels traces a full-bodied arc from cradle to tomb and perhaps beyond. The journey is narrated by author Juha Itkonen, and baritone Arttu Kataja is the soloist in the Bach cantata. The concert series is planned by Anni Haapaniemi, Principal Oboe of Tapiola Sinfonietta.
