The Tapiola Sinfonietta concert for Maundy Thursday features one of the world’s most celebrated choirs, the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir. Arvo Pärt is one of Estonia’s internationally best-known composers; his music is characteristically quiet and gentle. The main work on the programme is Seven Last Words by Scottish composer James MacMillan, a powerful evocation of the passion of Christ.
