Self-service libraries
Self-service libraries are equipped with a system that enables you to use the library independently.
These libraries can be used outside the main opening hours. The self-service libraries in Espoo are Haukilahti(external link), Kalajärvi(external link), Karhusuo(external link), Kauklahti(external link), Laajalahti(external link), Laaksolahti(external link), Nöykkiö(external link), Otaniemi(external link), Saunalahti(external link), Suurpelto(external link) and Viherlaaks(external link)o libraries.
During the self-service hours, there is no staff in the library, but the premises are monitored using electronic surveillance like cameras. In a self-service library, library users can usually borrow and return materials, use computers, read magazines and newspapers, work or have meetings. A wireless network is available.
