Archipelago route for cyclists from 4 June until 27 August 2023
An amazing cycling experience in the summer – Espoo’s coast by land and sea.
Explore our new cycling route – half by boat and half by bike. The archipelago route for cyclists runs from Otaniemi to Nokkala and all the way to Kivenlahti and back. There is room for about 20 bicycles on the boat, and cyclists are given priority.
The longest cycling route is 30 kilometres if you cycle along the Waterfront Walkway from the Otaniemi marina to the Kivenlahti marina. You can reduce the distance by half if you choose to get on or off the boat at the Nokkala marina.
The route has been marked with street signs that have a picture of a boat and a bike.
Cycle along the Waterfront Walkway
Otaniemi–Nokkala 13.5 km (includes a 2.6 km loop around Otsonlahti)
Kivenlahti–Nokkala 16.7 km (includes a 1.8 km loop around the Suomenoja wetland)
Otaniemi–Kivenlahti 30.2 km (includes loops around both the Suomenoja wetland and Otsonlahti)
You can make the distance shorter by skipping the loops.
