The City of Espoo has adopted a chat service as one of their new service channels. In the chat service, you can discuss issues in real time by writing instant messages. The service will be available on the Espoo.fi website.
Family social work with clients – in other words family work and domestic services – currently has long queues. As queuing times have stretched, the wait time for our services is about two months. We contact all new clients within approximately two weeks.
The principles for public art provide a starting point for increasing the presence of art in the city. The principles were approved by the City Board.
The first major community artwork “Lintukato” by the street art pioneers Essi Ruuskanen and Tuuli Huovila will be set up at Viaporintori square for Espoo Day.
This year, designing, art and fun activities will be on offer to people of all ages. Kulttuurikontti is a mobile cultural space built in a shipping container. Its activities are open to all and free of charge.

The goal of the AI Truck launched today is to help Finnish people experience and experiment with Artificial Intelligence and to teach them key concepts related to AI. The AI Truck, built by students from Omnia and Aalto University, will tour the Helsinki metropolitan area and the regions of Häme and Pirkanmaa from May 28 to Midsummer.

This week, the City of Espoo’s Disability Services unit sent a customer satisfaction survey to approximately 900 people who have used our services. Green Berry Oy has won the Pääkaupunkiseudun Kasvupolku competition, the metropolitan area’s regional growth programme that is part of Kasvu Open. The company was selected as the winner from among 15 companies and will proceed to the national finals to be held in October.

The City of Espoo will hold a digital experiment competition to find new innovative solutions for experimenting within the city services. The experiments will be implemented between September 2019 and the end of 2020. They may last from 3 to 9 months and have a value of EUR 8,000–30,000 depending on their nature and complexity.
On 17 May, the telephone service of Adult Social Work for urgent matters serves only 9–9:30 am. Our employees’ personal telephone numbers cannot be reached on 17 May.
