Summer Job Voucher
The City of Espoo will pay EUR 300 to all employers who hire a young Espoo resident between 1 May and 30 September using a Summer Job Voucher. The minimum duration of the summer job is 10 working days and 50 working hours, either consecutively or divided into several periods. The employer cannot be a private household, a family or a private person.
In 2020, the Summer Job Voucher is intended for young Espoo residents born between 2001 and 2005. Summer Job Vouchers will be available as of Monday, 3 February. There are 1300 vouchers in total.
Information regarding the coronavirus
- In this exceptional situation, employers should as soon as possible inform young people who have a Summer Job Voucher if the agreed summer jobs are no longer available. This allows the young people to try to find other summer jobs where they can use their vouchers. Young people who had to find another summer job should send the details of the new job (summer job information form) to email@example.com.
- The City of Espoo will not comment on the obligations of an employer or an employee in terms of the employment relationship, for example whether their employment contract is binding or whether the employee has to come to work. These issues must be discussed between the employer and the employee. If a young person is not able to find a summer job, they must return their unused Summer Job Voucher to the following address: City of Espoo, Youth Services, P.O. Box 37, 02070 City of Espoo.
There are no vouchers left.
The young person must already have a summer job when picking up a Summer Job Voucher. Young people must pick up their vouchers in person. They must bring with them a picture ID and the summer job information form filled in and signed by their employer or an employment contract containing the same information. Only one voucher is available per young person.
The minimum net pay is EUR 350 for 10 working days and 50 working hours. If the young person works for a longer period, their pay needs to be higher than the minimum pay. The employer will also have to pay taxes, social insurance and pension contributions and holiday compensation, in addition to the minimum net pay of EUR 350.
