Swimming halls and lido to open in June

The swimming halls in Espoon keskus, Leppävaara and Olari, as well as the lido in Leppävaara opened on Monday 1 June 2020. The Espoonlahti swimming hall will most likely be opened on 15 June at the earliest, as maintenance work will still be carried out there. Safety is ensured by limiting the number of customers, with safety distances, and with hygiene guidelines. In addition, Tapiola's paddling pool it is expected to open during the week beginning 8 June at the latest. 

All swimming halls will boost cleaning efficiency and hygiene levels. Customers should also follow the normal cleaning instructions of the swimming hall with care. In particular, good hand hygiene must be ensured in the toilet facilities and before going to the pool. Each customer has the greatest responsibility for maintaining a sufficient safety distance. 

You should not visit a swimming hall if there are any signs of flu or if you have been in close contact with infected or home quarantined people. 

The impact of the meeting restrictions in force as of 1 June 2020 on the number of customers and practices of swimming halls, the lido and the Tapiola paddling pool

  • We hope that everyone follows the recommended swimming time, which is up to 2 hours, washing included. 
  • In all areas, including washrooms and at the swimming pool, the instructions on 2m safety distances for non-family members should be followed.
  • Restrictions on the number of people per pool must be observed. 
  • The café and lobby areas may have up to 50 people at a time.

Espoonlahti swimming hall:

  • opening not earlier than 15 June, a more detailed schedule will be confirmed as the maintenance work progresses
  • open all summer
  • maximum number of customers 200 persons/2 hours (including gym customers who use the same changing rooms)
  • the saunas are not in use

Central Espoo swimming pool:

  • opened on 1 June, open all summer
  • limited number of customers / 2 hours (including gym customers who use the same changing rooms)
  • the saunas are not in use

Leppävaara swimming pool:

  • opened on 1 June, open all summer
  • maximum number of customer 200 persons / 2 hours
  • limited number of cabinets
  • some of the showers closed
  • the saunas are not in use
  • no more than 50 persons at a time in the multi-function pool
  • no more than 15 persons at a time in the children's pool
  • the cold water pool is in use
  • the hot tub is not in use
  • no access to the open-air swimming pool
  • the jumping pool is not available for swimming hall customers (the pool is only accessible from the open-air swimming pool)
  • no more than 20 persons at a time at the gym

Leppävaara lido:

  • opened on 1 June, open all summer
  • maximum number of customer 500 persons / 2 hours
  • the saunas are not in use
  • no more than 10 persons per lane in the 50m pool
  • no more than 50 persons at a time in the multi-function pool
  • no more than 15 persons at a time in the children's pool
  • the jumping pool is available for lido customers (the pool is only accessible from the lido)

Olari swimming hall:

  • open 1– 26 June, limited number of customers
  • the saunas are not in use
  • no more than 20 persons at a time at the pool
  • no more than 30 persons at a time at the gym

Tapiola paddling pool:

  • the paddling pool is expected to open during the week beginning 15 June at the latest
  • lifeguard on duty 10am–6pm
  • no more than 50 persons at a time in the pool

We monitor the situation on a daily basis and return operations to normal as far as possible. We are also closely monitoring the information provided by the authorities. If there are any new restrictions, we will immediately inform about them.
