This spring, adults have been able to visit the Clinic for Mental Health and Substance Abuse without appointment from Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 6 pm and on Fridays from 8 am to 4 pm. These reception hours are now available for young people between 13–22 years of age, as well.
A new guidance and counselling service has been set up with the telephone booking service of the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. It offers self-care instructions, an assessment of the need for treatment and guidance to appropriate services are provided quickly by phone.
Your child is about to start first grade. You can book the free health check-up for first-graders online. You can also fill out the form with data about your child for the health check-up online.
The City of Espoo has adopted a chat service as one of their new service channels. In the chat service, you can discuss issues in real time by writing instant messages. The service will be available on the Espoo.fi website.
Our services may run slower on the first days. If your matter is not urgent and can be put off for a few days, we would appreciate if you wait until 25 May before contacting us. In the future we will be able to serve you even more smoothly than before.
Finland’s national vaccination programme defines the areas where TBE vaccines are given free of charge. Espoo is not currently one of them. Summer residents of certain areas elsewhere in Finland may get the vaccine for free at those local health centres.
After your appointment, you will receive an SMS message asking about your experience. Answering the survey is easy, fast and completely voluntary. The experiment will last until August 2019.
You can get free contraception from your school/student nurse or at the Family Planning Clinic.
You can manage your health centre appointments online. You can book an appointment with a nurse/a public health nurse and for on-call services and check, change and reschedule your appointments. In spring 2019, the health centres started offering video appointments with a nurse.
The Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS) has investigated the suspected case of measles reported at the Iso Omena Health Centre yesterday. HUS confirms that it was not measles. However, everyone should check whether they are protected against measles.
Nurse's reception hours for adults are now Mon–Thu at 8–18 and Fri at 8–16. Young people have their own reception hours Mon–Thu at 16:00–17:30.
The persons who have been exposed to measles have been charted. It is unlikely that the measles infection will spread to others. In Espoo, there is good immunisation coverage against measles, mumps and rubella (MMR).
Matinkylä Health Centre has moved to the Iso Omena Service Centre, and is now called Iso Omena Health Centre. Oma Lääkärisi Matinkylä serves now at Piispanportti.
Matinkylä Dental Clinic is closed. When you make an appointment, you can choose any of the City’s dental clinics. Cooperation with a private dental clinic is being planned in Matinkylä.
The medical helpline is open when health centres are closed.

The City of Espoo is embarking on a three-month mission with the goal of finding innovative, digital solutions for promoting the mental well-being of young people. The development round to be implemented under the agile experimentations programme will be launched on Thursday 5 April in a workshop organised at the Iso Omena Service Centre and will last until June.
