The Social and Patient Ombudsman advises Espoo residents about their rights as social and health care customers.
The task of the Social and Patient Ombudsman is to promote the legal protection of social and health care customers. If necessary, the Ombudsman can function as a mediator between the customer and office-holders, although the official complaint channels will also be available to the customer. The Ombudsman can assist with submitting a complaint if a customer is not satisfied with the way he/she has been treated.
The Ombudsman also advises the patients of Espoo health centres and care facilities and their family members on patient rights.
