The school doctor works at the school alongside the nurse. To make an appointment to see the doctor, please contact the nurse.
The doctor’s role is to provide preventative care and to screen pupils for diseases and other medical conditions. If required, the school doctor can refer pupils for further investigations and treatment.
It is not within the school medical team’s remit to provide general medical care in the form of diagnostics, treatment or follow up. Your family doctor is responsible for managing and treating chronic conditions and providing any statements and certificates that may be required.
Pupils who become acutely unwell during the school day will be asked to attend their own local health centre, if required.
