Self-service appointment booking for coronavirus testing now available to Espoo residents

People living in Espoo or in the HUS area can now book an appointment for coronavirus sampling using the Coronabot. The hope is that this new service will reduce the number of calls to the helpline that has been very busy.

As of 8 September, the residents of Espoo and the Uusimaa region have been able to book their coronavirus test appointments online. What this means is that telephone contact with the City of Espoo’s health care professionals is no longer required. To book an appointment, you need to have online banking codes or a mobile ID.

It is also possible to book an appointment for another person, for example a child.

How do I book time for myself?

If you suspect you have any signs of the coronavirus you can book a test appointment online.

  1. Go to the website at koronabotti.hus.fi.
  2. Answer the questions concerning coronavirus symptoms and exposure.
  3. Identify yourself using your online banking codes or mobile ID.
  4. Fill in your information.
  5. Book an appointment at a testing site. 

Access to the self-service from Omaolo

Espoo residents can also access the self-service appointment booking system through the Omaolo service. First you should answer the questions concerning symptoms and exposure on the Omaolo website and then go to the Coronabot website to fill in your information and to book an appointment. Please note: Depending on your answers, you may also be instructed to call us or to send your answers to us through Omaolo, for example.

The path for Espoo residents from Omaolo to testing

  1. Fill in the symptom checker form at omaolo.fi.
  2. You will get instructions based on your answers. In most cases, Omaolo will instruct you to go to the Coronabot website to book a test appointment. (Depending on your answers, you may also be instructed to call us or to send your answers to us through Omaolo, for example.)
  3. Identify yourself on the Coronabot website using your online banking codes or mobile ID.
  4. Fill in your information.
  5. Book an appointment at a testing site.

Instructions and test results via SMS

After booking an appointment, you will receive a text message with a confirmation and instructions. You will also receive your results as a text message.

For clients who have booked their appointment through the Coronabot system, positive test results will be visible in the My Kanta service later, only after Espoo’s Infectious Disease Unit has entered them into the patient information system. Negative test results are expected to be visible in the My Kanta service at the beginning of October. By then, positive results will also be visible faster.

You can still call us

If you wish to book an appointment by phone, you can still call Espoo’s coronavirus helpline, tel. 09 816 34600. The helpline is open from Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 18:00 and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 to 15:00. The number of the text message service for the deaf and hard of hearing is 040 639 3945.
