Starting from 10 August 2020, the public spaces at the Kalajärvi Service Centre will be open from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 20:00. In other words, the Service Centre will return to its normal opening hours after the reduced summer hours.
When the school year starts on 14 August, the Service Centre will be full of life as the nearby Kalajärven koulu joint comprehensive school is being renovated and some pupils will study at the Service Centre premises. At least Kalajärvi Hall will be mainly reserved for teaching purposes in the daytime.
The average age of the Service Centre visitors will now be a lot lower in the daytime, and group activities organised for example by Omnia, Estrada and Pohjois-Espoon eläkkeensaajat ry will continue in the evenings.
“Our goal is to offer activities for people of all ages and serve all local residents,” says Service Coordinator Päivi Peltomaa.
The rooms at the Service Centre are available for anyone to use from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 20:00. You can book a room through the Varaamo service. Read more about the Service Centre’s facilities and how to book them.
Dental clinic and health centre open again
The Kalajärvi dental clinic opened its doors on 3 August and the health centre will reopen on 10 August.
Until further notice, the maternity and child health clinic and health centre will only serve clients by appointment.
Library’s self-service hours to be extended
Kalajärvi Library will extend its self-service hours as of 10 August. Customers will be able to access the library from Monday to Friday between 7:00 and 20:00 and on weekends between 7:00 and 15:00.
