Updated 5.6.2020: closing of the health centre during summer

The Kalajärvi Service Centre will continue to offer somewhat reduced services in June. The public spaces at the Service Centre will be open from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 18:00. The exceptional situation caused by the coronavirus keeps changing and we may have to change the opening hours of certain services at short notice.

  • The health centre and the maternity and child health clinic only serve clients who have booked an appointment. The health centre is closed from 15 June to 9 August 2020.
  • The dental clinic will remain closed until further notice.
  • The Service Point serves customers according to its normal opening hours
  • The library is open Mon–Fri 11:00–18:00. The self-service library is open Mon–Fri 7:00–11:00 (starting from August 1, 2020 also 18:00–20:00)

The two meeting rooms (Katiska and Apaja) are available for independent work from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 18:00. You can book the rooms through the Varaamo service. The Service Centre wants to support the local residents’ remote work and studies. The Service Centre’s facilities will become available for group reservations and larger events in August.

Service Centre closed in July – library and maternity and child health clinic will be open

The Kalajärvi Service Centre will be closed 6–26 July 2020. The library and the maternity and child health clinic will remain open. You can access the premises through their own doors.

Service Centre used as temporary school premises as of August

In August, the Service Centre will be full of life as the Kalajärven koulu joint comprehensive school will be renovated and some pupils will study at the Service Centre premises. We expect that at least Kalajärvi Hall will be mainly reserved for teaching purposes in the daytime.

The average age of the Service Centre visitors will be a lot lower in the daytime, and group activities organised for example by Omnia, Estrada and Pohjois-Espoon eläkkeensaajat ry will continue in the evenings.

“It is still our goal to offer activities for people of all ages and serve all local residents,” says Service Coordinator Päivi Peltomaa.
