The Keilaniemi business district will be expanded with new office, hotel and residential buildings.

Espoo, one of the fastest growing cities in Finland, is marked by a skyline featuring Finland’s highest office building. This 84-metre high tower building with almost iconic landmark status, built in 1976 as the headquarters of the national oil company Neste, is located in the business district of Keilaniemi. An area inside Keilaniemi was acquired by real estate developer Regenero in 2017.

This includes the renovation and refurbishment of the existing premises as well as commercial development that leverages on the overall development of the area. The plan is to create a heart of excellence, a mini metropolis with stylish Nordic living at its core.

“Regenero’s aim is to develop high-quality office and residential premises in prime locations with excellent public transportation and car connections. The recent investments in the area’s public transportation, such as the new metro line, the improvements of surrounding ring road and the vicinity of the highway and Aalto University Campus in Otaniemi, make Espoo the most desirable place in the metropolitan area right now”, says Kari Helin, CEO of HGR Property Partners, which owns Regenero together with YIT.

According to Regenero, the future emphasis will be on public means of moving around. “Companies are seeking to locate their premises next to functional public transportation,” Helin says. In addition to Keilaniemi, Regenero also has several other ongoing real estate projects in Espoo. The company is very pleased with the collaboration with the City of Espoo. “The city has created a strong growth platform enabling us to carry out projects with high quality, consideration for the community and competitive risks for the investors.”
