Apprenticeship training gives you a chance to acquire a vocational qualification and degree by working.
Apprenticeship training involves on-the-job learning at a workplace (80%) and theoretical studies (20%) at an educational institute. The training is based on a temporary employment relationship; the student is paid a salary according to the collective agreement, gains work experience and gets guidance on completing a vocational degree. A personal competence development plan (PCDP) is prepared for the student, according to which the studies will proceed.
The city has offered the largest number of apprenticeships for practical nurse training involving services for the elderly and disabled as well as early childhood education. The aim is to train more capable employees for the City of Espoo.
