The City of Espoo invites all residents to the traditional Independence Day Gala Concert in Espoo Metro Areena on 6 December 2018 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
We will hear Helsinki Police Band conducted by Sami Ruusuvuori. Soloists include the charismatic Angelika Klas, the renowned baritone Jorma Hynninen and Arttu Wiskari, interpreter of Finnish feelings. Other acts are the choir Candomino, conducted by Esko Kallio, and the gymnastics group Olarin voimistelijat and Annami Hylkilä. The concert will be hosted by Maria Sid. At the concert, the city will also award this year’s Espoo medals (established in 1972) as acknowledgements for eminent efforts for the city. This is the nineteenth Independence Day gala concert. It has become a shared tradition for the whole city.
