Would you like to go and watch birds, but the abundant birch pollen makes you uncomfortable out there? No problem: you can now follow birds’ activities indoors on your computer or mobile device through Lintulive.
The live camera in the wetlands of the Laajalahti Nature Reserve can be found at www.birdlife.fi/lintulive.
The camera rotates automatically to show different parts of the bay. It zooms in at times. You can also listen to the sounds of the birds. At night, the camera does not move and the picture is black and white.
In the next few weeks, you can see species like the common redshank, the grey heron and ducks. Now that the water level is low, you can see many kinds of waders, such as sandpipers and ruffs. A pair of cranes have also made impressive appearances.
You can report interesting observations in the comment field. There, you can also see what birds other visitors have spotted on the camera.
