Housing and services

There are plans to build homes for 14,000 people in Kera. Approximately 10,000 jobs are also expected to emerge. The district already has a railway and streets, municipal engineering and old buildings that are already in use and whose lifecycle can be extended.

As more people move to Kera, their services will also improve. Plans to build shops, a day-care centre, a school and recreational areas in Kera are already under way. At the moment, there is a grocery shop in Nihtisilta in southern Kera and another in the north next to the Nokia campus.

Thanks to the station area, it is possible to build a dense cluster of services. Central Kera will be pedestrian- and cycling-friendly.

Suomen Osuuskauppojen Keskuskunta (SOK) and Nokia own some 60% of the lands in Kera, while the City of Espoo owns no land in the district.
