Housing and services

Housing production picked up speed in Espoonlahti in the 2000s and still continues.

After the new shopping centre, Lippulaiva, is completed, the construction of a new superblock will begin on the plot of the former Mårtensbro skola primary school. The block will contain homes for about 2,000 people and is expected to be completed by 2030.

The Espoonlahti metro station and feeder bus terminal will be connected to the Lippulaiva shopping centre and make the district significantly easier to reach.

Some services are already available in Espoonlahti, and more modern and diverse services will be introduced there in the future. The final location of Espoonlahti Library has not yet been determined, but some hope that it will become part of the shopping centre.

The renovation and extension of the swimming pool are scheduled to be completed sometime around 2025. The City of Espoo is also charting the uses of and the need for premises at the Espoonlahti sports park.
