Espoo is the second-largest city in Finland with five lively city centres: Leppävaara, Matinkylä, Tapiola, Espoon keskus and Espoonlahti. We develop the strengths and competitiveness of Espoo’s city centres continuously. We build new neighbourhoods and compact old ones. We make sure that services are good and new jobs are created. The network city also includes some growing local centres.

Espoo grows sustainably close to rail traffic. The metro will stretch all the way to Kivenlahti. Five new stations bring the metro closer to ever more residents. In the future, cross traffic in the Helsinki metropolitan region will be enhanced when the Jokeri Light Rail connects the metro and the railway.
