Contact with the social welfare services

Are you concerned about the life management, substance abuse, income or the situation of children of your client, family member, friend or someone else you encounter? Take contact with the social services of Espoo. Based on your contact, social service professionals will assess what sort of help can be offered to the person or family in their situation in life.

This service is for situations when the person in need of help has given his/her consent to contacting the social services. If the person in need on help has not given his/her consent, go to service Notification of the need for social welfare services.

To take contact as a private person

Anyone who is concerned about the life situation of another person can take contact to social services. Based on your contact, social service professionals will assess what sort of help can be offered to the person or family in their situation in life.

  • If you do not know the personal identity code, please fill in a printable form (pdf, 117 Kt) and post or fax it to the Adult Social Work office of Espoo. Contact information is located at the bottom of the form.

To take contact as a person who is bound by the contact obligation (Section 35 of the Social Welfare Act)

Persons bound by the contact obligation include health care professionals, social welfare officers and those employed by the Social Services, Education Office, Sports Office, Early Childhood Education, Rescue Services, Emergency Services, Customs, Police, Criminal Sanctions Agency, Employment Office, Social Insurance Institution and Enforcement authorities. If you belong to one of the above-mentioned occupational groups and you have learned about someone whose need for help is obvious, you must direct them to seek social services.

You can take contact when the person in need of help gives his/her consent.

In urgent cases make the notification by telephone

We are handling the notification forms on weekdays at 8:00–16.00. When someone is in need of immediate social services at night or during the weekend, please call social and crisis emergency services, tel. 09 816 42439 (open around the clock).
