Beaches

Espoo has 58 kilometres of shoreline and 95 lakes. There are 11 beaches by the sea and 10 beaches by a lake. Seven of the beaches have supervision.

In the Outdoor Exercise Map service you can find information on the beaches in the metropolitan area – services, the algae situation and the water temperature.

The Espoo Environment Department supervises the beaches during the swimming season and takes samples of the beach water in accordance with the sampling plan. Supervision of Espoo beaches include information about algae.

All beaches have a WC/dry toilet.

Dogs may swim at the Laajalahti beach when the birds in the area are not nesting or feeding, as well as at the marked swimming place between Toppelund and Haukilahti.
