The application period for cultural project and development grants and art grants for 2020 has opened. Grant applications may be submitted until 31 August 2020 at 15:45, and decisions will be taken every 1–2 months during the application period. The application must be submitted prior to the start of the event, project or work period. The project may take place this year or the following year. The City of Espoo Cultural Committee is in charge of the grant principles and decisions, and grants are awarded for artistic and cultural activities taking place in Espoo.

Project grants are divided into three sub-categories: local culture grants, grants for starting and developing artistic activities and development grants. Local culture grants support cultural events and projects in which the citizens can easily participate as part of their daily lives. Grants for starting and developing artistic activities aim to expand recreational opportunities in different areas of Espoo. Recreational activities or hobbies are open to creative interpretation: such activities may include a holiday art camp for school children, an improvisation course for adults or family-oriented activities inspired by different cultures. Development grants are intended for professional art and cultural communities in Espoo. Applications for the local culture grants and grants for starting and developing artistic activities can be submitted by individuals, work groups and communities.

The application for art grants is open to Espoo-based professional artists, and grants are awarded for work periods of one month or three months.

Community applicants with a business ID should submit their project or development grant application primarily via the online service. The online application service has been developed together with the association sector, and feedback on the service is still more than welcome. Later on, the online service will be extended to include individuals and work groups. Until further notice, use the PDF forms to apply for other types of culture grants or create reports for all types of grants.
