The Musica nova Helsinki festival takes a look at urban life. The programme includes the world premiere of the Ghost Notes, concerto for Hammond organ and orchestra by the versatile Finnish composer Sami Klemola. The opening number will be Mantel by Lisa Streich, one of the most prominent Swedish contemporary composers. The pioneer of minimalist composition, American composer Steve Reich recorded urban sounds in New York City for his work. Aurora Rosas´ video art goes hand in hand with this composition.
The contemporary music event will be conducted by German conductor Roland Kluttig, presently the principal conductor of Graz Opera.
Kimmo Korhonen will give a pre-concert talk on 5.2. 2021 at 18:45. The concert begins at 19:00.
